You can’t really go wrong with a simple little black dress. Whether you keep it basic with heels and simple jewelry, soften it with boho accessories, or make it a little edgier with booties and a leather jacket, a little black dress has always been a staple in my closet. However, I haven’t come across a black dress I love as much as this one featuring cutouts on the front and back! I feel like such a bad ass in this dress especially in the look paired with a leather jacket. I didn’t want to be in too much black (although I am, head to toe), so I created the second look to juxtapose with the all-black outfit to show that it can look great styled multiple ways. I’ve come across so many great black dresses that I can’t wait to share with you – in tons of affordable ranges so you can recreate these two looks!
Necklace / Unknown / I got this cool charcoal necklace while at a show in New York and never caught her brand name! If anyone ever locates a Columbian jewelry brand that makes jewelry out of charcoal – please, let me know! An alternative option is this lava stone necklace or this Rebecca Minkoff necklace.
Here are a few more options for a similar dress that I really love (maybe even more than the one I own!!)
Switch up your all-black look by adding a bright kimono and lighter accessories. I usually wear a kimono that I got last summer in Japantown in Los Angeles, so I’ve linked to a few that I love. You can see in my previous blog post how I wore this same dress with a red kimono – I love the look!
A little black dress is such a great versatile piece to add to your wardrobe. It’s the item you can turn to when you think you have nothing to wear – but still look pulled together in it! What are some of your favorite wardrobe basics?
