By now, we all have a little black dress in our wardrobe, so I wanted to mix up my basics with a little blue dress that I could wear to many different occasions. I feel like midnight blue is a versatile as black, but can make you stand out in a room. The sleek silhouette of this look makes it perfect for a dressier event like a wedding, but the simplicity of the solid color and shape allow you to wear it to dinner with your girlfriends without looking over-dressed.
I kept this look simple to bring the attention to the dress. My only accessory is a cage bracelet that I designed. The bold lines on that make a statement without having to wear any other jewelry. I love how comfortable the leather straps make the bracelet. I initially designed it as a statement piece that I would only wear periodically, but it’s so easy to wear that I find myself in it almost everyday! The leather is mixed with laser cut wood and an inlay of brass.
This slits on this dress give it a lot of movement, even when standing still. I feel like they also keep the look from feeling too formal. Because it’s such a dark color, the slits break up the solid color with a flash of leg and make the overall look lighter and more fun.
I can imagine walking through a room and turning heads with the way this dress clings to the body and flows as you move.
I wore it with my usual black booties to toughen it up a little. They pair well with the black leather cage bracelet and make it so easy to stand in all night. I would definitely be able to dance the night away in this look!
