fall style dressing for transitional weather - paige denim jeans - green muscle tank - no basis in reality

I’m definitely not ready to put the wool and cute sweaters into the back of my closet quite yet, and let’s be honest, I’ll still rock my light jackets when it’s hot and 90 degrees outside, but Summer is on my mind and that means linen sets and warmer weather are just around the corner. It’s the perfect time of the year to start pulling the sundresses from the back of the closet, dusting off my worn summer sandals and dressing for transitional weather with my paige denim hoxton ultra skinny jeans.

This season is so lovely to witness here in the mountains. The flowers start to bloom and the nights get warmer, as well. It’s all about planning evenings outside, turning the porch lights on, and snuggling up to look at the stars at night with your significant other. It’s also about having fun with everyone’s favorite season. Discovering new light fabrics, colors and shades to add to my seasonal staples is something I truly love. I am always so excited with each shipment from my favorite brands to the store and love to start pairing unexpected colors, prints and pieces together.

The usual culprits for Spring, like florals, light knits and anything linen, make their way quickly into my shopping cart. But I’m trying to keep an open mind for what could be worn in the Spring this year to push my wardrobe. Here are some amazing pieces I’ve found for dressing for transitional weather!

One of my new favorite colors is quickly invading my Spring wardrobe and I’m loving all of the options that I’m finding in green this season! I love how easy this shade is to wear and incorporate into every look. It’s bringing some new life into my old looks. It all started with an amazing bright green dress from Just Female that I couldn’t stop thinking about once I saw it (and the matching bright green top!). The one item that is hard to find in a shade of green are shoes, so if you spot any tag or tweet me please!

Spring textures are definitely some of the lightest feeling of all the seasons. Light cottons, structured linens, stiff cottons, light denims and airy textiles make pieces feel easy and special. Linen is something I’m always excited to break out this time of year. From skirts to crop tops and skirts to jackets, it’s something I like to have in my wardrobe towards the end of Spring and beginning of Summer. This year the selection has me craving linen everything!

If you know me at all, you know I love my sleeveless tops and crop tops! I love feeling light and breezy in a barely-there top. There are always amazing crop tops and blouses to have every year, and this season is no different. Brown, green, oatmeal and black will be my go-to colors for this Spring.

Jackets are another classic for dressing for transitional weather. I love to push the boundaries with most items in my wardrobe, but when it comes to jackets and coats I like to invest in classics that I can wear for multiple seasons. I am still really into structured linen jackets, and have been wearing a linen blazer style jacket for the past year.

Last, but not least, boots! If there is one item I can’t live without in the Spring it’s a boot or bootie. I love my pair from Fortress of Inca so much, but as the weather gets warmer and the skirts get shorter, I like to elongate my legs with open toe, statement heeled boots. I’ve already got my eye on several pairs that I am dying to have and I can’t wait to pull last year’s favorites out to combine with this season’s outfits.
